For 3 days these motor oil soaked "Diablos" stampede through the streets of their village, San Martin Tilcajete. Fueled by tradition and Mezcal they wreak havoc on the locals, their linens, and the paintwork. The final day, Mardi Gras, culminates in a cross-dressed wedding, a frenetic dance-a-thon swarming with colors and costumes, and days of clean up and hangovers. It is a beautiful thing.
